it is about time for an update...so here you go!
About a month ago, Matt and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary. We both had to work that day, but Matt took a night off from hockey so we could celebrate by eating at one of my favorite restaurants, Arin Krin (Garlic House), enjoy some ice cream, and watch our favorite show together, The Office. It was a very nice, relaxing night.
The weekend after that we celebrated Cinco de Mayo on May 2nd. :) Our friends Nate and Laura had a party and fun was had by all. Due to the fireworks in the parking lot, the police were called up to the apartment. After they found out what we were celebrating we were told to maybe close our windows, but still have fun!

The next weekend we went camping with a bunch of friends. This was my first time camping in Okinawa. Matt went camping with some people last fall, so he's a pro. We packed up our car (including Chile), drove to the top of the island, and camped at a beach by Hedo Point. It was a beautiful beach, but the sun was intense. Luckily, my mom gave me a pretty little sun tent for my birthday last year, which we made good use of on this camping trip. Chile enjoyed it too. The boys went snorkeling and the girls chatted and read. It was a fun weekend.
The dogs and me enjoying the shade of the sun tent.
The next morning we decided to head up to Hedo Point, the most northern part of the island and take some pictures.
So, that basically sums up our last month in Okinawa. We have been keeping busy. We have a busy summer ahead of us as well. Three weeks from today we will be landing in MN! Woo hoo! I have not been home for 7 months and that is too long! I can't wait! Matt and I are very excited for Andy and Brooke's and Jake and Pri's wedding! We are so happy we are able to come home for both of them. We are also very excited to see all of our family and friends. It has been too long!
I will be staying in MN for a while longer than Matt. When Matt returns to Japan, he is planning on climbing Mt. Fuji on mainland Japan, with some friends. That will be a great experience for him.
We are also excited to be planning a trip in August to visit my sister in Tanzania. We have most of the details figured out, so we are just waiting for Matt's leave to be approved.
That's all for now! See everyone soon!!!!!
